RELATE COMMUNITIES
In Our neighbourhoods, as it is in heaven
What is a “Relate Community”?
We are excitedly preparing for the launch of Relate Communities in the new year! Communities are the weekly in-home gatherings of our Relate Church family. They are similar to a small group in that they are gatherings of people in homes, where we get to share life together, study Scripture and pray for one another. With that being said, Relate communities are unique in how they gather and their purpose.
Let’s take a look at some of the key distinguishing elements of Relate Communities.
Communities are place-based, meaning, we meet with those who live in proximity to where we live. Groups are centered around neighbourhoods. We do this because we are commissioned to be salt and light in the places we call home. God never gets the address wrong.
Communities are multi-generational & multi-cultural because the Church at it’s best and healthiest is marked by unity in diversity. We need one another with all of our differences, to be all who God has called us to be.
Communities are not a part of what we do, but are central to who we are and where we are going as a Church. We see these gatherings as being as essential to spiritual growth as our Sunday gatherings.
Communities are the primary space for us to truly practice Kingdom Life. Together, we will grow in our discipleship, as we practice the subversive communal disciplines of prayer, the study of Scripture, confession, encouragement and burden-bearing.
Communities are hubs of life-giving contribution to the neighbourhoods we call home. They are channels by which we as a Church will primarily practice sacrificial generosity, evangelism & mission. We are here for the renewal of our neighbourhoods.
When do Communities meet?
Communities gather midweek, on Sundays or Wednesdays (depending on the gathering).

HOPING TO JOIN A RELATE COMMUNITY?
The first step in joining a Community is to attend a Relate Communities onboarding evening.
We host these evenings a handful of times throughout the year in order to give you a chance to hear a bit about our longterm vision for Relate Communities, as well as what our gatherings typically look like.
Our next Relate Communities onboarding evening will be taking place on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025. If you plan to attend, we ask that you RSVP below.
